Elana Campbell

Elana was born and raised in England, and immigrated to the USA in 2003. Her experience in education began after her youngest child was diagnosed with autism. Knowing that she had no experience with the American special education system, she decided to enroll at the University of Southern California and earn a Master's Degree in Teaching. What better way to know your rights and options, and understand the system, than by totally immersing yourself in it? Elana also has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Manchester, England.

Over the last decade, Elana has worked in various teaching environments. These include Title I, private special education, and charter schools. Her experience as an intervention teacher, coupled with her work as a Dean of Students and ultimately as the Director of Upper School of a renowned charter school, allowed Elana to craft and perfect a personalized organization system that will help students become masters of their own planning and time management. This highly specialized system was created after years of working with students and implementing interventions to assist them in getting back on track with their grades, taking control of their academics, and understanding how they learn.

Elana spends time getting to know how a student learns and what motivates them, and looks closely at the root of the issues that are causing the bad habits. With a solid organization plan, and the accountability check-ins, students have improved their daily planning skills and have learned how to use effective strategies to study for tests and plan for long-term projects. In addition to helping with these valuable skills, Elana helps students with self-advocacy skills and strives for each student to feel empowered, and to take ownership of their work and organization skills.

Elana is an avid advocate for the autism community. She has volunteered as an advocacy ambassador for Autism Speaks, co-chaired the SARRC Community Breakfast from 2019-2021 and is also a member of the Professional Advisors Committee at SARRC.

Elana received a Fellowship from the Royal Society of Arts in London (FRSA) for her work with autism and in education.
